Where To Enable Or Disable JavaScript

[ Internet Explorer ] [ Firefox ] [ Mozilla ] [ Netscape ] [ Opera ] [ AOL ] [ Safari ] [ Google Chrome ]
Internet Explorer Clones [ SlimBrowser ] [ Maxthon ] [ Avant ]
Mobile browsers [ Opera Mini ]

[ Test your JavaScript here ]
(Note: If your browser is not shown here, please let me know. Thank you!!)

 Note:
Let me clarify something first, Java and JavaScript *are not the same*, they are 2 completely different and independent programming languages. The setting(s) for one does not affect the other period. While the two share part of their names in common, and are often mentioned as if they were the same, they are really two completely different programming languages, and you should really consider them as such.

 Note:
I have never had the experience of using AOL, but as I understand it, these *general* instructions apply for accessing the JavaScript settings in their default browser. From what I understand, AOL's default browser is Microsoft's Internet Explorer, but with quite a few specific modifications for AOL which either change, or restrict the equivalent settings in the standard Microsoft Internet Explorer that's available for everybody else.

To enable JavaScript in AOL
  1. From the My AOL menu, click Preferences.
  2. Click WWW.
  3. From the Security tab, click Custom Level.
  4. Scroll down to Active scripting.
  5. Click Enable (or Prompt).
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Close Preferences.
Close all open browser windows, then reopen for the change to take effect.

The following 2 links are for other web site's pages that have screen caps for the various steps along the above outline that you might need to refer to. I can not vouch for their accuracy, but they do appear to be accurate.
