Yes, that is why I was asking her if she *really* needed a notebook, or whether a "netbook" might better suit her needs. You can get an ASUS EeePC with Linux pre-installed for about the same price or a little less. This has the advantage that if you are using it on public networks, where you are particularly susceptible to "interference", you would be using a more stable, safer OS. And you wouldn't have to wait for your AV program to update itself each time you get on a wi-fi system.
The HP one listed, altho it has Windows, at least has XP instead of Vista and it is readily available in stores in my area.
