Assuming you remember your username and password, go on the Web, and try to log in there to your account.  If that works OK, then you can go back and mess with Outlook Express.  I get this garbage every once in a while with the Linux version of mailwasher, but I have not seen it with Thunderbird; it always seems to log in OK.
