Check your [Internet Options > Programs] tab for what shows in the E-mail dropdown list.

If it's Outlook, open the dropdown menu and select "Outlook Express" > Apply > OK.

Office updates have a nasty habit of changing it to Outlook.

Hi Eddie -- My Email program IS specified as Outlook Express in Internet Options (IE).  A thought occurred to me -- I am using Firefox as a default browser.  Could this be related to the problem?

I just tried this solution and it worked.  I went to Control Panel > Add/Remove--- > Set Program Access and Defaults > Custom.  The email program selected was "Use my current email program" which I changed to "Outlook Express"  Now it seems to be working as I wanted.
