If you do a lot of screen capturing may I suggest FullShot 9. This will capture anything displayed, even tool buttons. It can edit in ways most image editors never thought about as well as traditional methods. The design of this program (and what I use it for mostly) is to capture images of a program that runs in Windows to help create an instruction manual. The ultimate in screen capture, editing, and adding numerous kinds of annotations in full color spectrum. This does cost $50, but if you do a lot of screen captures or photos or scans that need annotations or editing it will pay for itself in time and easiness. The results will look very professional.
