Hi Eddie,

I have a few questions.

1) I found on the Dell support site a "firmware" download available for my drive, HLDS GSA-H73N HH DVD+/-RW 16X SATA. I know nothing about firmware. Would you recommend trying an install of this to see if it would solve my problem?

2) Re a replacement for my optical drive, again I know nothing about such things. Does it have to be the same model as is now in my tower? Do you have any recommendation of one or more that I should look at? I assume you are talking about replacing the "internal" drive. Where to look? What should I google? Must I be careful about the physical size of the new drive or is this universal? My computer is a Dell Inspiron 530 (desktop).
