I used Safe Mode to run an antivirus, and at the beginning it said it could be used to remove one or the other, if I understood correctly: 4) You must have an Administrator account on the computer as well as any other normal User accounts that were created. In other words, you can not delete it.

Thank you so much, Eddie, for replying. I have run just about any free antivirus there is and no problem found. I have another or so to give a whirl. I really dread restoring to original format and doing all updates, etc.
If it weren't for the loading of strange websites, it would be normal, except for the constant disconnects of the internet or wi-fi, or whatever. It actually acts like it knows to avoid any MS website that will benefit me for my system or browser.
In another of my posts, I mentioned something about an install agent. I couldn't download it using the laptop's browser, but did it from my tower and brought it to the laptop. I haven't executedd it. By chance, is it an updater? I think it was posted yesterday, to find it by date.
